These people sell spandex type gators in every color and print you can image. they were like $12 when i bought some a few years ago. they aren't water proof, but they keep the pebbles and sand out. I cant stand them. I need some room to roll around. Except for the days when it is actually storming, a basic 1 man 3 season tent like enfuego mentioned is more than enough in the local mountains.

I have slept up there a few times. Sometimes you get that shadow and sometimes you dont. not sure why??? Having to carry water up there is tough. How long does everyone get out of a pair of boots? I seem to wear them out in 12 months, maybe 18 if I am lucky. Any recommendations on a boot that last 2 or more years.

I saw those clouds also from Manker this morning. Around 9:15 or so. They were over towards Telegraph/ Thunder when I saw them. Very strange looking. Image

Yes, you need a pass for every calendar day. Even if its less than 24 hours. Rip off. I am going to hang an IOU in my window this weekend.

moving very fast with almost no stops I know they don't stop. I was heading up, just below Cucamunga and they were coming down. there was no pad or sleeping bag but there was a dry pair of shoes that was just my size. Nice! Time to make camp for the night.
