These people sell spandex type gators in every color and print you can image. they were like $12 when i bought some a few years ago. they aren't water proof, but they keep the pebbles and sand out. I cant stand them. I need some room to roll around. Except for the days when it is actually storming, a basic 1 man 3 season tent like enfuego mentioned is more than enough in the local mountains.

I have slept up there a few times. Sometimes you get that shadow and sometimes you dont. not sure why??? Having to carry water up there is tough. Whats a sewn welt? Do any boots come with that, or you get that when you replace the soles?

How long does everyone get out of a pair of boots? I seem to wear them out in 12 months, maybe 18 if I am lucky. Any recommendations on a boot that last 2 or more years.
