I want to check out that trail this fall when the leaves turn. I didn't know we had wild roses in our mountain, I saw some kind of wild blueberries a few miles from there today. http://picasaweb.google.com/markshiking ... 5391757490

The homes in Bear Canyon, Ice House Canyon, Holy Jim Canyon, Chantry, ect. will all be burned down at some point. (some already have burned down) They are built in thick vegetation areas and are constructed with non fire resistant material. There is zero clearance around most of those homes and ther...

I have slept up there a few times. Sometimes you get that shadow and sometimes you dont. not sure why??? Having to carry water up there is tough. Best time to do it is in spring when there are still snow fields near the summit. http://lh5.ggpht.com/_yGbBedEcKn0/SQTZla7DfZI/AAAAAAAABUA/840EjUwAVGI/s8...

How long does everyone get out of a pair of boots? I seem to wear them out in 12 months, maybe 18 if I am lucky. Any recommendations on a boot that last 2 or more years.

Speaking of that, it's also a rip off that all the trail heads to access San Jacinto State Park require a National Forest Adventure Pass.Rumpled wrote: It's a federal pass - hang the IOU in the (closed?) State Parks.

Yes, you need a pass for every calendar day. Even if its less than 24 hours. Rip off. I am going to hang an IOU in my window this weekend.
