I want to check out that trail this fall when the leaves turn. I didn't know we had wild roses in our mountain, I saw some kind of wild blueberries a few miles from there today. http://picasaweb.google.com/markshiking ... 5391757490

what you saw looks like sambucus mexicana (blue elderberry) to me.
