Re: BALDY LODGE - Beer is awesome FORUM MEETUP
I think we should all should buy Taco a beer on Saturday. It's the least we can do for the Administrator who helps (if we can call it that  ) keep this site going. http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/smiley-eatdrink009.gif I won't be there Saturday, but I'll call my credit card in to the lodge, ...

WOW! That looks like quite the hike. The bush whacking in the first video doesn't look too appealing to me. Were there many sections like that? In any case, I commend you and your group for completing the long hike. Do you know if Adjala was named after the town in Ontario, Canada? Or named after th...

Taco - This coming weekend I might be going on an overnighter, but I also heard it might rain a little and the people I'm going with, will call off the trip if rain is in the forecast. If that is the case, I will be doing Baldy via DBB and will join ya. I'll prolly be in the lodge and starting by 2p...

Re: Baldy Bowl and Ski Hut Trail
Hey Sleighty. Lilbitmo and I did the exact same trail two weeks ago. Although we did not use crampons, there was a few areas where crampons would have been the way to go. But none the less, with careful stepping, we made it to the summit without crampons. We started at 5am, with head lamps. I would ...

Nice lil write up. You know, I had a full med kit with me. I could have not only stitched your arm up, but I prolly could have made rolled you down the route and patched you up again at the bottom. Sure would have been quicker. I think I'll start wearing some of my paintball armor up those rou...

Patrick - Didn't somebody tell you it'd be windy up there? 8) The wind was pretty bad on Saturday also. I hope you had Lucy on her leash tied back to you so she wouldn't fly too far. You guys are friggin made of win! Thanks again a million times! Arm is OK. Big hole but no broken bones, thank God. Lotsa blood loss so I was a tad messed up. You know, we were only about a 125'-150' from topping out. We should have rigged an emergency litter and hauled your arse to the top. This w...

011009 Lightning Couloir "STRIKES BACK" (pic heavy
Taco (Ryan), Yoskolo (Alex) and myself (EnFuego - David) made a trip up to Baldy to make a second ascent of Lightning Couloir. We arrived shortly before 6am to windy conditions, and semi warm temps (minus the wind chill). I would like to say it was a great trip......Ah, what the hell, it was an awes...

Theres a lost and found "sticky" in this forum. Duh!!! ![Laughing ](./images/smilies/icon_lol.gif)
Actually, I think it better to post new post with title that states "Date", "location", and either "lost" or "found". I think this would be more noticable.

Nice pictures. I've never heard of "too many accidents on the mountain". Was she refering to hikers/climbers or their skiers? I actually called the ski resort last Friday and asked how much for a one way ticket, cuz Lilbitmo and I were going to do Baldy. She never said anything about climb...

I have maps and guide books of shasta you can "peruse" over lunch (your treat).
If you're going, and depending on the route, I want in.

Re: Baldy
Is there evidence of skiers at the bowl? Looks like some good snow in that chute near the top! There were actually quite a few skiers. I saw at least 7, but they were still at the ski hut and two were already hiking out and skied the bowl. BUT!!!!! The snow was very hard pack and very icy. It's doa...

Re: Baldy
This was a nice trip. The temps hovered between 30 degrees at trailhead to 33-34 at ski hut and back down again to about 30 on the summit. Lilbitmo was being nice when he said I did good. By the time we reached the summit, I was probably about 20-25 minutes behind him. I would say atleast half that ...

Re: Snowshoeing
Well, I can tell you that I just did Baldy summit via the Ski Hut trail on Saturday and there was absolutly no place for snow shoe use. The snow was very hard pack, and in some places, iced over.
After the next snow event would be your best bet.
