San Gabriel Mountains Technical Tips

I was writing a trip report on Summitpost for the most recent trip when I decided to turn it into an article regarding specifics about technical travel in the SG's, like climbing, mountaineering, etc.

It should be done soon. Lemme know what you think. I'm putting in my own tips and knowledge from my climbs. It is meant to be specific to technical (roped) activities, or situations in which one "should" be using a rope or protection.

Nice lil write up. You know, I had a full med kit with me. I could have not only stitched your arm up, but I prolly could have made rolled you down the route and patched you up again at the bottom. Sure would have been quicker.

I think I'll start wearing some of my paintball armor up those routes.

That was a SWEET write up! That was precisely what I was looking for.

Is there any chance that you will put your climbing/mountaineering experiences in other writing? Such as snow travel, use of ice ax tecnniques, setting fixed rope and snow anchors.

I guess I could. I'm no expert, just a guy with a hard head and harder bones in my arms.

Well, if you need help learning something, I might be able to assist, or at least give you someone to talk to. It can be difficult finding climbing partners around the SG's, for stuff in the SG's.

Yes, and then after the difficult process of finding said partners, they tend to get hit by rocks and stop climbing. It's terrible I tell you.
