Re: Forum Logo (Header/Banner Picture)

For whatever the reason the new photo makes it so the "recently updated" date is off the screen. One, or at least I have to scroll to the side. Not as user friendly.

Love this site. Thanks for keeping it up Taco

Oakwilde?

I love this area?

The Station fire wiped out trails getting to this place, but wondering if anyone has been able to make there way there? Pictures? Reports?

Happy Trails -

This thread is an example of why I really enjoy this forum. Get to know some "new" trails and haunts. The people on here are respectful too 99% of the time. Good stuff!

Never knew there was a trail from Rubio. Is the jump off point from Rubio somewhat obvious? Thanks!

Miss the duck at Oakwilde

Damn you station fire!

I miss the somewhat ease of going to Oakwilde and seeing the ducks. So close to the city, but so far......

Re: Little Jimmy, first backpack trip in 25 years...

Great pics and fun trip report. The trail runners up there were training for the Angeles Crest 100 mile Endurance Run in late July. That water at Little Jimmy's is so good I bottled some up on Sunday to take home. It's in my fridge waiting to be enjoyed! Nice to hear you had a good time and congrats!

Nice pics and report. I looked back on a few occasions today and I had a "bug bubble" The bugs are crazy up there right now. Was up there today 6-10 and they are relentless. They kept me moving though. Did the following: Old Mt Wilson Trail to Wilson Mt Wilson Road to Eaton Saddle Mt Lowe ...

From the Fels Naptha website "Poison ivy resin can remain on your clothes for over 1 year. Washing with Fels-Naptha® will eliminate the dangerous resin from your clothing. Thoroughly wash all of your exposed clothing including hats, gloves, coats and pants in shaved or grated Fels-Naptha® (abou...

Re: Poodle Dog and its bite

Fels Naptha is a laundry bar soap that has been around for a long time. Look for it in the detergent section / not the body soap area. Apparently it strips away oils. I found it at Albertsons. In my experience it works for poison oak too. Since it strips away oils consider applying body lotion after...

Chaney Trail access??

Hey all,

I suppose I could look online or call the FC, but this is probably a more reliable source. I'll get in touch with those folks too, but can anyone tell me if they lock the yellow gate at Chaney at night??

Thanks

I don't recall - is there a drinking fountain or another clean water source that passers through can partake of? Thanks.

Trail safety - gear

Hi all, I'm usually alone on the trail. Do what I call trail running. In reality it's more of power hiking the ups and running the flats and downhills. I always leave an itinerary with a loved one, but what if I'm bit by a rattler or spill down a canyon? Thoughts on this device??? http://www.findmes...

Anyone here running AC100 this year? Been in the back of my mind for about 4 years. Is there every a good time? Signed up, ran my 50 and registered for trail work. This will be my first hundo. Have two 50s under my belt and a handful of 50Ks. Thoughts, advice, stories, jokes? :D
