thanks, I am getting the hang of administrating this forum and figured out how to add a photo, thought Mount Baldy would be a good choice.

I thought it might be neat if we changed our main image (currently Baldy from Iron) each season, to reflect our mountains and such.
Since I rather lack creative "juices", I was wondering if anyone else had any ideas? Perhaps something canyon-oriented for Summer, trailrunning for Fall, mountaineering for winter... etc etc?
Shoot!

The BB poll feature might be a useful way to tally votes.FIGHT ON wrote:Have a photo image contest. Vote on them.

Nice pictures, guys.
I'm thinking of making one that's wider than it is tall, with "San Gabriel Mountains Forum" on it. Gotta sift through my stuff before I make one.

Some fine ones up here!
My favorites so far are Dudley's one from a vantagepoint that I don't recognize (HE219 quoted it), and HE219's view of Cucamonga with clouds.

It's not in the same league as some of the others that have been posted, but I think this audience will appreciate one from the early days of digital photography:

Eman...the pic you linked to is private. As you probably know you can change it to public in Flickr.

Y'all vote for it. My vote doesn't count. It's up to you guys what goes up, and when.
HEY HikeUp. Can you get rid of those telephone wires on your pic? If you could that would be a good one.

Great pic EMan...I've never seen anything like the cloud waves before...cool.
FlightOn: I can't do anything about the wires...no software or inclination. If someone wants the originals that were used to create the panorama they are welcome to them...just let me know and I will provide.
I personally think Cucamonga is the most photogenic peak in the range and will vote for it in general. It is by far the most favorite hike I have taken in the last 3.5 years :)!
Like this nut job...

I was wondering. I bet people on other message boards have great pictures of the San Gabriel Mountains. Imagine how many different pics there would be to chose from. What is the best way to reference this topic to other sites?
Also maybe the contest could be for four pics, one for each season.
Oh and hey RickM, Look what happens when you use Black Diamond Hiking Poles. Check out the pic posted just above this post. Dude you FLY WITH POLES!!!
