just got back from echo mtn. you could see alot of lights and vehicles stopping at a certain section of the ghighway. maybe they are makig repairs around the clock :?:

ive got lots of plans.......
With your good logistics/trail knowledge and my ability to exploit those with good logistics we would make a ultra light fast hiking team... need more sieeras and stuff in the los padres preferably

got up to MANZANITA ridge about 8:55. 10 mins later 4 meetupers show up and say they are part of Ze's MT wilson lollipop so i followed them for an extra 5mi & 3000ft gain.......

Worked out wonderfully :roll:

After 4 weeks out of action i figure it was time fora hike again. So i went up the not so far away Old mt wilson trail to manzanita ridge. From the ridge i went down winter creek, passed Zion and up to wilson using the stutervant trail. Once at echo rock you could see some burn areas all around. Aft...

went to inspiration pt wednesday via castle cyn. Every thing in every direction is toast.
But the fire teams up there did carve some nice trails going around those little peaks to the west and east of ins pt are these peaks considered the closure zone?

I agree things can often be ambiguous with the USFS, and the people within the agency suck at communicating sometimes, but in their defense, things like this are not as simple as closin...
