Palisade Traverse tips?
Has anyone here done the Palisade traverse recently (T-bolt - Sill)? Ive studied the route but still need to clear up some things. Im planning to free-solo the traverse sometime next year (maybe a cheater's rope on T-bolt summit block and milk bottle). From the top of T-bolt to starlight, there's a ...

Merriam and Royce Peaks 5/27/12
A nice climb to start the season! On Saturday we hiked in and climbed both Merriam Peak (13103 ft) and Royce Peak (13253 ft), then camping at a small lake below both peaks. On Sunday we did the easy hike out. morning alpenglow from the parking lot at Pine Creek Trailhead https://eispiraten.com/image...

Banner Peak 5/19/12
Tommey and I did our first Sierra hike of the season. We were surprised at how little snow there was. We were planning to do Ritter and Banner Peak, but ran out of time because the road to Agnew Meadows was closed due to fallen trees. We had to walk an extra 8 miles up and down along that nasty pave...

Indianhead Peak 12/31/11
Video of the climb: https://www.youtube.com/embed/43MLGqrc0zI Indianhead is a towering jagged face located a few miles west of Borrego Springs. Its rarely climbed. The signatures in the summit register indicated that no one had been up there for a month! We started the climb a little after 9am and s...

Scrambling up a ridge from Hellhole Canyon 12/24/11
a fun dayhike, scrambling up a ridge in the Anza borrego desert. We reached 2 benchmarks and climbed up Peak 5386 (aka. San Ysidro East Peak or Doghead Peak). At the start of the hike. The lower hill near the left side of the pic known as "Ode BM" was our first destination. https://eispira...

CNF has ruined one of San Diego's best hiking spots !!!
Cleveland National Forest has completely ruined Cedar Creek Falls. It used to be one of San Diego's local secret hiking attractions. The very existence was known by a very small group of hikers, including me, who would come out on weekends to enjoy the waterfall. It was a relaxing place to get away ...

Anyone interested in Mt. San Gorgonio Snow Camping?
Location: We will be starting from South Fork Trailhead, but meet up at Mill Creek ranger station first The initial planned route up the mountain was the Vivian Creek Route, which I have done several times. Since that trailhead will be closed, the approach will be South Fork. I have never done south...

Re: Anyone want to snow camp on top of Mt. Baldy?
yep. more snow the better! snowed 6 inches last night on top of the 6 inches that was already there, another 2-3 inches predicted for thanksgiving day which makes for about 15 inches on the ground for the traverse

C2C is my favorite route in Socal, gaining 11,000ft in about 16 miles (one way). This is my 4th time climbing it and would be my first time climbing it with a group. 3 years ago I soloed this route at 12 years old in 9 hours to the peak. Its been a tradition to do it at least once a year ever since....

The Desert Divide to Idyllwild 8/26/11- 8/28/11
8/26/11 On Friday, Me and 5 other hikers went up to Idyllwild to start our 2 and a half day backpacking trip. On the way there we drove through a thunderstorm and got pelted with rain. At a stop at a ranger station on the way there, two dogs that were scared of the thunder ran into the truck when t...

Whats the fastest C2C?
Im wondering whats the fastest time ever done for an ascent of the FULL C2C (from the museum to the peak). There have been some rumors that people have done the portion from the museum to the tram in less than 3 hrs.

Mt. Shasta Avalanche Gulch 6/25/11- 6/26/11
Last month I attempted to climb Mt. Shasta 5 times in 3 days, but only ended up climbing it 2 times in 1.5 days because of bad weather. This trip report took so long to post because the flash drive containing half of the photos fell under a car seat and it took me a month to find it. Trip Report: 7/...

I am going to hike up Mt. Shasta (14,179) 5 times in 3 days
I will attempt to break the record for most ascents up this mountain in 3 days. The hiking will be between 6/25/11 and 6/27/11. I will be taking the avalanche gulch route on the southwest side of the mountain. https://eispiraten.com/images-archived/gallery.myff.org/gallery/1086285/1.JPG ____________...

Vivian Creek 4/23/11 in 4 hours
did a hike up Vivian creek on Mt. San Gorgonio starting at 8:30 in the morning and reaching the summit at 12:30pm. I thought I wasnt going to make it at first and sprinted up the trail. Then I found myself at halfway camp after less than 50 minutes. https://eispiraten.com/images-archived/gallery.myf...
