My morning run in the Grand Canyon
Heres some pics I took on my morning run on tuesday. I ran down the Bright Angel trail, thats 9.5 miles long and 5000ft down. That took me 1hr 59minutes (I walked the first 15 minutes just ta sorta get mentally prepared and also to look around, when running i dont always get to see the views...hafta...

Soooo, an acquaintance of mine, Lisa, who does alotta backpacking/hiking, as well as is a past distance runner, ...says I cant compare it to trail-running, says its like apples n oranges. So...Mizuno stuffs, clothes, for cold weather. Is it good? Does anyone here use it? In reviews it looks like it'd be really nice so im going to buy some next week i think, Unless you guys have had any bad experience with it, ...not very warm, doesnt stay dry, isnt durrable etc... @Tracie n CM-yeah, i see there TR's. I know theyre "special"/do a lot ona regular basis, but I do a lot too, I run over 30+miles per week at 7000ft elev. and can get to the bottom of the grand canyon n back up every 3 weeks in well under 4 hours.....but, I would still train for a 40 mile r...

ya, its pretty cool, theres always deer n elk out in my yard, and Mcnuggets (chipmunks) everywhere! its really cool,and yer in the woods n on trails the second you go out the door. the nearest real town is Flagstaff,its small and doesnt have any buildings over 3 or 4 stories high! and not even a Mac...

my trail pics!
this is my regular running trail out here at the Grand Canyon, south rim. Its 6 miles round-trip and i go out there about 4 days a week. So, i guess these are pics of a "trip" i take all the time, ha. but today is the first time i was willing to walk parts of it and carry a camera. Anyway....

ok, thisll make me look stupid...but so how far and in what time did you do this? All i see is a picture of a topo map i dont know how to read.--its just a buncha squigly lines ...no readable milage to me ...so what was yer distance, time, elevation, terrain please for trailrunning stuffs? :D Also!!...

Oh! and i fell on the way down too, about 6 miles down where the dirt is dark red n poufy, i mis-stepped somehow on a right turn and went down totally forward and a lil to the left, ha, lol, my whole left side n front was covered in red dust, i slide a few feet too, never dropped my waterbottle thou...

ran down Kaibab trail to bottom again this morning. Started at 515am...was real pretty out, a lil befor sunrise and the full moon was still up...anyway--my run down was great, only bout 4 other people on the trail that early. took 90oz's of water/gatorade mix, some pomagranite juice n some dried pin...
