Re: Kenyon DeVore Trail (Mt. Wilson)
I have hiked the Keyon Devore Tr post Station Fire. It was in good shape. This was like 1 year ago or so. The loop I did was to the Valley Forge Tr. The Gabrilenio Tr between Kenyon Deveore and Valley Forge was bad. Unless you had hiked it before many times it would be difficult if not impossible to...

I found if you stayed above 10,000 ft no bugs...
Definitely more bugs south of silver pass .
Purple lake as I passed through was the buggiest spot north of silver pass
I saw some folks hiking with head nets
I just hosed down with "Bens 100"

Most excellent!
I'm going to be in that area over the July 4th weekend.
How was the mosquito situation?
Was there any damage from the wind event south of Reds Meadow?
Could you send me a GPX of your trip? (Trimble outdoors requires a paid account to download)

Mounds of dog poop and plastic water bottles everywhere. FWIW having hauled out 100's of cubic yards of every kind of trash imaginable, with many many 5gal buckets full of broken bottles over 40 years I feel the concerned citizen cleaning it up is the most effective way to teach others what they ar...

Is this situation any sign of a burgeoning new 'Hiking Era' ??? Any chance much of this crowding has to do with social media ----- or as we used to call it, the internet ??? Yes and Yes As others have stated good old population growth too. Along with diminishing space to do the hiking thing At leas...
