has anyone here ever hiked that trail that begins at the summit, near the two overlook benches? i haven't ever started there and gone west - although it is a popular hiking trail / trail running route to cerro noroeste. go here for details / photos about that 5.5 mile route: http://longstair.com/~p...

Mt. Pinos via North Fork Trail ~ LPNF ~ 2011-08-29

mt. pinos is the highest point in ventura county. it is possible to drive to within two miles of the summit and walk on a dirt road to complete the bagging. we did not do that. this is a drive from almost everywhere, but the two trail camps, especially sheep, would make for a great overnighter. pics...

I didn't want to be a drama queen about it, but maybe had one foot on the HACE train. Not sure, it wasn't fun though. Dropping 1200 feet or so we noticed a major difference in my behavior, though. congratulations on a safe trip. it says a lot about you and your newly-found co-trekkers that all of y...

how well trod is the register ridge trail?

easy to see since rain / snow?

any places to keep an eye out for where it might be possible to get off trail?

they may be silly questions, but one never knows.
