I'm gonna try to go up on the 8th. I work on the 7th unfortunately!

I've been itching to do this hike at night, too bad I work in the morning!

I was up there today, be careful of the thunderstorms. Very easy to see lightning and as we descended the devils backbone it got really windy and wet. Little thunder was booming as we were booking it directly off the summit of baldy.

Wish a ranger or biologist would do the study on Chino Hills State Park, the last I heard there were only 2 lions in the park, with at most 3. Would be interesting to learn about them. Amazes me that they live there though, I dont believe deers even exist anymore in the state park. I havent seen one...

I'm gonna be going up DBB on Friday most likely just to see how much snow there is on the trail, if nobody goes before then I'll have pictures!

Right now the moisture level is going to be below 6k feet until Sunday'ish when the moisture profile will be saturated to 10k. There wont be much snow accumulation until Sunday, then, Sunday night/monday/monday night its going to snow big time they say! Foot above 6k

First time I did Baldy I took the ski lifts too and also took the ski runs(baaad), ultimately they're prolly quicker since you dont switchback which takes a while. But, its easier going and less steep which ultimately just makes life easier. I take the switchbacks down anytime now, my feet thank me ...

Models now backing off on the system Friday/Saturday, which wouldve been the big snow producer.

Still likely to be a good amount up high from the tuesday/wednesday system.

Well I called in on Friday and they said it was open, and that they were closing it on Monday(today). However, ended up not going due to the fire concerns and whether or not I was going to be needed to evacuate my house!

Went to work this morning, I gave out so many free coffees. It was hellacious, had lines out the door and drive thru was backed up all to hell. People love free stuff.
