SNOW - Questions, Forecasts & Reports About Snow
^^^^^They used to have something like that at Trader Joes. Coffee in a round tea bag looking thing, but with no string...of course it wasn't Starbucks brand coffee.
Hey Taco, why is Starbucks coffee so hot? My theory is most people get cold shit mixed in, so they make it extra hot to keep it from getting cold after people add milk or something...I take it black and it always is way to hot and taste burnt to me.

If you just get the brewed coffee by itself, its just brewed at that temperature. I don't think its due to the possibility of people putting stuff in it, it's just the way we do it!
Come to think of it, I actually dont know. I'll let Taco answer that!

Interestingly, the forecast for the N face of Baldy is slightly different than for the summit itself. They're predicting several days worth of opportunities for snow. I'm a little doubtful that it'll happen, but with that many shots at the goal...
I so badly want this to happen... anywho...

Closest link I can find to mt baldy! I'm pretty sure this is the harwood mark.
If you look at the forecast discussion, theyre saying this first system Tuesday/Wed is going to be warmer, but should drop some snow. Then, if the 2nd system comes through on Friday/Saturday, it should be stronger and colder, lowering snow levels to 5000 feet.
It's still a week away though, and not much confidence in the Friday/Saturday system.
I'm really hoping, and this means that I finally get to go out and buy crampons/ice axe! Woohoo

I was just going to post about this! Finally we're getting some action. Looks like the best possibility for accumulation is during the THU/FRI and SAT/SUN storms. Unfortunately, if this pans out, some hikers' plans up a certain ridge might be thwarted

Those guys on the Mammoth forum are rabid weather maniacs. I got pretty reliable weather info from them last season.

The real thing is forecast for this week.
What do you folks think it will be like next weekend if the forecast turns out correct? Too much avalanche danger for a hike or not enough snow to worry about?

there will be no snow. it's all just a conspiracy.
I don't do snow. Don't know how to read it. I will hike in it after there is a clear path and there is ideal weather but anything short of that forget it. And if I do I won't be going alone. I don't like frozen sardine mushroom popsicles.simonov wrote:What do you folks think it will be like next weekend if the forecast turns out correct? Depends on where ya go, but in general, I'm not gonna do anything aside from playing drunken Scrabble in Icehouse Canyon (REALLY?! PERHAPS.....) until things are consolidated. Places like that are obviously OK to tread on.simonov wrote:The real thing is forecast for this week.

Depends, depends, depends. Adult daipers.
Depends on the hiker.
True. What day you gonna be up there?
