Re: TR 9 Peaks (San Gorginio)

We did all 9 last year in September the opposite direction. My sister had a hard time at the end so she wanted redeption. She did great this time. My buddies would rather make this a 3 day trip :P.

Next up will be Baldy, Whitney and the 6 peaks of Baldy. Got to get ready for skyline+ in October.

TR 9 Peaks (San Gorginio)

We all started out great except for we (my sister, two friends and myself) hit the trail at 8:40 am as opposed to the scheduled 7:15. We had lunch at Manzanita Springs which already puts us further behind schedule. The realization hits our other hiking partners that they are not in the shape they th...

I wonder how much more tiem i need to acount for. Was up to Limber Pine Bench on Saturday, May 28th. Trail is clear to the trail junct...

Icehouse Ridge? - Cucamonga, Bighorn, Ontario

So with my hiking buddies out of town I decided to hit up Icehouse Canyon again and since I have seen it so many times recently I pushed the pace more with less sightseeing. I wanted to concur Cucamonga Peak this year for sure after a few failed attempts. I hit the trail head at 7:30 and made one st...

Re: General Conditions

For sure last year we carried a lot of water. Got some at the stream half way to San G from Vivian Creek and not again until just above manzinta flat. We coudlnt find the spring that was on the oppsite side of the ridge from dollar lake (near diablo peak?).

Re: Wilderness Crest Trail (Cucamonga Peak)

Went to the second saddle last sunday and although it was snowing and blowing hard it was not issue. From the looks of it the peak is doable as well but again I have tried for the peak 3 times and only made it once (straight up the ridge) the other times therew as too much snow or people in my party...

Re: General Conditions

Yeah I saw your post. We are going accross the divide. Good to hear, I guess I will have to keep an ear/eye out. the trickiest part would be on the way up and down from San G but that is mostly south faceing, it is just from the pictures I have seen there is still quite a bit of snow there.

Re: Amgen Tour, May 21 (Sat) - Mt. Baldy Limited Access

I am going to either park friday night and stay up there or ride up saturday morning. I want a spot at the switch backs. I figure the finish line will be at the first parking lot at the main sign, not at the lift buildings?

Re: Wilderness Crest Trail (Cucamonga Peak)

Well what a day. Started at the parking lot at 8 and it rained on us till we hit the sign next to the big rock. Then it was mostly snow. At the saddle it was BLOWING and the trail map sign there was frozen over 1/2" -1" thick. Headed on over to the next saddle (with only half our group now...

Second If i were to scale the hike back can we approced the two peaks from Hwy 2 or is still closed? I have...
