Re: SNOW - Questions, Forecasts & Reports About Snow

no snow in Simi Valley, but when i left my house at 4 am Sunday morning it was 33 degrees and there was black ice on the streets. KNX 1070 was reporting black ice on the 210 fwy at La Tuna Cyn Road but it was melted by the time i reached it. No regrets HJ, even Dr. George called it wrong at times. :...

As long as this means I can ride a 2-stroke dirt bike to the top of Baldy while I'm completely engulfed in flames. sometimes i wish this board had a LIKE button as Facebook does! you guys always keep me entertained! the obvious, what happens when the vehicle breaks down or the battery dies on a veh...

that was a stout objective! glad you saw the beauty of the Sespe. the hike to Hines Peak is a long one. just getting to Topatopa Bluff and back via Sisar Road is a long day. i still would like to do the drive up (or at least drive near version) where you can tag Topatopa, Hines and Chief all in the ...

Zach, you are pretty spot-on with the stats. That was one beast of a hike and everyone except Steve was complaining of pain on the way down. But we did it! We beat that Swilly Wabbitt! Great views, beautiful desert terrain and a heck of a long hike to do when most of us had already down a good sized...

22-mile Loop in Los Padres Nat'l Forest 2.9.11

Did a crazy-a$$ hike in the LPNF with Ventura County friends Camille, Robert and Ron on Wednesday. We started at 7:30 am at Santa Paula Canyon Trail behind Thomas Aquinas College which i thought was in Ojai but is technically Santa Paula. We traveled up the creek bed and then headed north toward Jac...

few thoughts: make sure the signal mirror is protected from being rubbed. mine is so scratched from friction that i can no longer see through the hole. i also carry 4x4 pads, though maybe that is what you refer to as gauze. i also carry a pair of chemical hand warmers, a body warmer and eye drops. p...

Tracie, there were 8 people staying at the hut on Friday night. We passed 3 of them as they snowshoed out while the other 5 were skiing down. Saturday there were no guests.
