Mike and Sean: the canyon has the coolest shades of lizards I've ever seen. Another lizard below near the river. I need to go look up a collared lizard.
Tom, RichardK, and Hikin_Jim: glad you enjoyed the pictures, there was so much I could not shoot in one day. Bison on the north rim? I didn't know until I saw them.
Rico: the fastest way across would be North Kaibab to South Kaibab, crossing the black bridge. If I ever do it again, that would be my path. Some of the inner buttes are tempting (various temples) but would require separate trips. The thing is just so freakin' big.

Cool lizard photos, HJ. I was reading up on them, and they can run on two legs, per wikipedia:
Like many other lizards, including the frilled lizard and basilisk, collared lizards can run on their hind legs, and are relatively fast sprinters. Record speeds have been around 16 miles per hour.
