Bighorn Peak: 07-20-2008
Interesting weather made this a very enjoyable hike up to Bighorn Peak. Started at Icehouse Canyon, up to the Saddle, through Kelly Camp to the ridge, then over to Bighorn Peak. Returned via the ridge that starts east of the peak and heads straight down to Icehouse Saddle.
Bighorn Peak from ridge west of peak...
Cucamonga Peak from just west of Bighorn Peak...
Bighorn Peak...
Tim's register entry from last week (only 2 people signed in since, I was the 3rd)...
Tasty salt delivery system...
Baldy --> Telegraph from Bighorn...
Columbine spring flowing nice and cool...
Trick question - whose car is this?
(sorry I missed running into you...hope your hike went as good as mine!)

Your sixth picture (VERY NICE) should be considered to replace the old, worn out, one we've been looking at for the past BILLION YEARS. TACO? WHEN ARE WE GONNA SELECT THE NEW FORUM PICTURE?
but you da guy with the thing and the stuff! what we gonna do if you can't remember? I'm tired of imagining Rick Kent going over and back that route in one day.TacoDelRio wrote:Cool stuff.
Fight On, you guys select it, and... uh... I'll try to remember how to post it.
I had a great hike, and the Ontario Peak trail is my new favorite hike in the San Gabriels. It's beautiful up there.HikeUp wrote:Trick question - whose car is this?

I'll have a full trip report maybe tomorrow after I get my photos processed and uploaded. Had a finger problem with the camera today . . .

LOL. I took about 100 pics, and I didn't start until I reached the saddle.simonov wrote:Had a finger problem with the camera today . . .
No I didn't. I had plenty of water still - yummy Pasadena Municipal Water - but on the way down I did splash some on my face and neck and filled my hat and poured it on my head. Very refreshing.Tim wrote:HikeUp, did you taste any of that water coming out of Columbine Spring?
I did. It was cool and a lot better tasting than the Mesa Consolidated Water District water that had been sitting in my Nalgene bottles for the last week.Tim wrote:HikeUp, did you taste any of that water coming out of Columbine Spring?
