Bighorn Peak: 07-20-2008

Interesting weather made this a very enjoyable hike up to Bighorn Peak. Started at Icehouse Canyon, up to the Saddle, through Kelly Camp to the ridge, then over to Bighorn Peak. Returned via the ridge that starts east of the peak and heads straight down to Icehouse Saddle.

Your sixth picture (VERY NICE) should be considered to replace the old, worn out, one we've been looking at for the past BILLION YEARS. TACO? WHEN ARE WE GONNA SELECT THE NEW FORUM PICTURE?

For any one interested, I took a few high res pics of the south/southwest side of Telegraph. Well...as high as my camera goes. Just let me know.

I had a great hike, and the Ontario Peak trail is my new favorite hike in the San Gabriels. It's beautiful up there.

I'll have a full trip report maybe tomorrow after I get my photos processed and uploaded. Had a finger problem with the camera today . . .

LOL. I took about 100 pics, and I didn't start until I reached the saddle.

No I didn't. I had plenty of water still - yummy Pasadena Municipal Water

- but on the way down I did splash some on my face and neck and filled my hat and poured it on my head. Very refreshing.

I did. It was cool and a lot better tasting than the Mesa Consolidated Water District water that had been sitting in my Nalgene bottles for the last week.
