Baldy looked beautiful Sunday with that new dusting of snow. Was anyone up there? This from San Gabriel Peak.

especially dig that photo of the church with the San Bernardinos in the background. Great photo. Where is this church located? Strangely, I cant make out Yucaipa Ridge in the photo. Almost like you moved the ridge out of the way so it would not block your view. :)

St Mina Church
22700 Saint Minas Court, Colton, CA 92324

If you look at the photo where San G is covered is clouds, I think you can see Yucaipa Ridge in front of the clouds.

Thanks!

Just realized that it may not be obvious, but if you click on gallery title or any of the pics above, it takes you to the full gallery. ~60 pics and a video.

Healthy bears in Sierra madre. Just posting for fun / good pic. These are very active all around the canyon area and chantry campgrounds. Camp bear smart and perhaps canisters are a must vs. just tying up (I use one - worked with battle scars at hoegees).

My view yesterday morning from my co-workers balcony. I'm staying with him and his wife until I move to NH (start my cross-country trip next week ).

Thanks for the time lapse. It's fascinating to watch.

Good luck on your move. I did a cross-country move last year and I am not yet fully recovered. What an ordeal. It's worse than the torment of the damned. At least you will have mountains in New Hampshire instead of alligators. Post plenty of pictures of the White Mountains. They are beautiful. Be sure to drive the Kancamagus Highway (NH route 112) from Lincoln to Conway. It's super.

This is a photo stitch I did using an old image from the 1890s and one of my own from a few years ago. The scene is Switzer Falls. On the left is the historical photo depicting a bunch of guys in jackets and vests. On the right is my friend Willie in less formal attire.Image

Tunnel shortly before Big Horn Mine last weekend. Poked my head in and saw plenty of water, but no candy. :(

I hate false advertising.

Here is a picture of what I suspect remains of the Joe Elliott sugar pine. Lightning took its life a long time ago, then a wild fire subsequently ate much of its corpse. Poor thing.

This reminds me of the classic family Christmas song "Bring out de ham!"

Yep. I made a joke about it to my wife while we were at the store getting some lunch for our hike to Mt Waterman last week. Then I decided to actually do it for the lulz. Also I like ham.

I'm definitely going to print and laminate this to put in summit registers...

Also that song is now stuck in my head.

Now you're just making stuff up. It doesn't snow on Mt. Lowe Road.

I thought this one came out nicely from our stroll along the Waterman Trail the other day.
