I enjoy your takes Packer Greg ... you seem to have some of the inside scoop. Some great stories too. Looking forward to more whenever you have itPackerGreg wrote: ↑Yeah, I was just being snotty about the way The Angeles is managed. Re: The Station Fire Thread
Cougar - Great questions that were not asked or really addressed. Looks like they have been doing quite a bit of work removing invasives. The gal who did that presentation was pretty informative. Lot's and lots of trail work needs to be done as you can imagine. Oh ... also .... they're doing assesme...

Re: The Station Fire Thread
Anyone go last night and what were your thoughts? Somewhat informative, but I could have done with half the wildflower presentation. Nothing definitive about re-opening of areas of the forest except "soon"...whatever that means. I think I got more out of talking to a few in the audience. G...

Re: Mining Operations / Castle Canyon and other places
What was the condition of the Mt Lowe trail camp? Is that trail officially open now? From Inspiration Point to Mt Lowe Trail Camp the trail was officially closed, but I only noticed that sign on the way back **wink wink**. The road from IP to Lowe camp was fine. Mt Lowe Trail Camp was in good shape...

Chantry to Wilson
Love that I found this board. Haven't been on this trail since I was about 13yo with a friend and our dogs. Coming out of Sturde I appreciated the footprints in the snow. Otherwise I would have turned back. Lot's of H2O Good times. Hopefully the link takes. Happy Trails.... http://www.facebook.com/a...

Re: The Yellow Gates To Chantry (opening time?)
found my answer on the Adam's Pack Station site. One question though; Do they stick close to those times:
"The road to Chantry Flat is open from 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM. All the Chantry hiking trails and camp sites are open"

The Yellow Gates To Chantry (opening time?)
It's been awhile since I've done an early morning scramble in the Chantry area. Do they really lock the gates up every night and open them in the morning? Can someone please tell me the earliest I can venture up the road? I forgot. Want to be moving before the sun comes up.... 6:30AM
Thanks!
Thanks!
