The trail is in pretty good shape, some slumping as you get to Bear Flat. There is also poodledog near the trail in this section but easily avoidable. The lower section to Bear Flat is completely toast so no more shade for the lower section. The big oak tree by Bear Flat is gone. All the homes in the upper canyon also burned. Once you climb the first long climb, most of the trees are healthy after the first bump. No shade anywhere on the last 2,500 feet coming down so hot to the point of unpleasant now.
