Thanks for the link. MS teams makes me angry, so I think I'll sit this one out. If anybody attends, post an update here!

Yeah, this is a process meeting...so I would say you are going to have a lot of people start in and at the end the FS will say 'oh, this is not an action plan'..and everyone say it was a waste of time..well, yes.

I did attend. Here is my update to the 'welcome to the FS, here is how we do things' meeting.
It should be noted that this was the 'new' FS. The Forest Service has used their own outside project leader, but these were in charge?...i.e. the FS has consolidated so there is no more 'we do things here in Region 5(angeles) like this. This was on a broader scale, with remote connections all the way to DC.

So the planned timeline was released, and now any questions. They did comment here which is noteworthy if you can read tea leaves.
So the following is my take on it.

They have been to MtBaldy village(they held an open meeting before this meeting),so they have at least seen mount baldy from there.
Veterans center at icehouse is going to open, aka the run 2 the top project. With the little loss of parking.
Parking was discussed. They thought money could be raised by a middleman(think of outsourcing to mt high that has already happened). What about the adventure pass..well that will co-exist. File this under 'snow play'...which is a program somewhere else where parking is sold for 1 day or the weekend or something. Of course, this is not nepa so we are just talking right.

Now for mt.baldy. A project leader said the following ...that forest service policy the last 14 years has been for users(visitors) to self-select. So no changes...just maybe the mountain will have to shut down like it is now. Its like mt.baldy is mt.hood.
This is after meetings with SAR at length. Then someone mentioning chains on the mountain(devils backbone), to which no one knew about the history of that. That piqued their interest.

There were like 300 comments already received, that are due next month(they gave a more precise number but i forget). What about icehouse? It didnt go beyond the parking lot.

I don't believe that the Forest Service exists. All announcements are AI and the people driving around in those trucks are actually Kaiser nurses who need some extra cash so they have a dress up day and are told to issue as many tickets as possible.
