Uncle Rico threw his football over Cucamonga Peak and now he wants to retrieve it. Come help him find it among the rocks and trees on May 14th. We'll start from the Middle Fork Lytle Creek trailhead and search all the way up to Icehouse Saddle. Start time TBD (probably 7 or 8 am). Let us know if you're planning to join the party.

That sounds pretty cool.
I'll show up for that.
Maybe we go to Claremont Craft Ales after and HikeUp (aka Likes Beer) makes an appearance..

I wish I could. Already have commitments for that day. I'd also recommend The Back Abbey in Claremont for beers and grub.

I'm in.
Back Abbey is a good place for a beer adventure, not many places to sit.
I could go for a Jacaranda Ale right now from CCA, have to bring your own food there.

Another grilled cheese day? Or do we come up with some other group snack?

Yeah, let's fire up those grilled cheese sammies again. That was sick.
I can bring some adult beverages to make things interesting.

I want to go but Sean says I am slow. lmao!
I remember a time when I kicked his butt on the trails.
Anyways, I was thinking that I could meet you guys at Ice House Saddle to give you all a bigger incentive to make it to the top and I will bring some tasty snacks as a reward. But If I do, I will start from Ice House trailhead.
I'll keep you posted.

It's a lot easier to park at Middle Fork than Icehouse... At that time of day you might be walking from Baldy Lodge which will also be the same mileage.
(and we already voted on the grilled cheese)

I should be able to make it. And I have a big daypack so I can act as a mule to carry supplies. What should I bring beyond my own gear?
(I'm still kicking myself for missing the last forum hike. I was on a month-long road trip so missed the original invitation thread, but I was back in time for the event, had I known about it. Maybe I should install that tapatalk app thing on my phone one of these days.)

Yeah I know! Parking is riduliculous. I would have to get there at 530am. Then I would be waiting a long time for you guys at the saddle.
Sean and I actually hiked from Middle Fork to Cucamonga peak years ago. That was a long day. Of course this would be a shorter route.
We will see.

Awesome. Yeah, be at the trailhead around 7am. Or PM me if you want to carpool. I'm coming from Los Angeles via the 10 to 605 to 210 to 15. I drive an old blue Honda Pilot.jfr wrote: I should be able to make it.
