Ms. Elwood and I took a little RV trip last week to do a little hiking in Bryce Canyon and Zion Canyon. With things opening up again, the crowds were a little much, particularly at Zion. None of this could dull the sheer beauty of these canyons and the surrounding areas. I'll put some meat on this report and add some captions when I get a few free moments.

Scenery in both parks is incredible. Both times I've been to Zion, it was a complete zoo, as bad as Disneyland. If I ever get back to the area, I plan to stay outside the canyon.

Yeah. The terrain looks super pretty, but what's going on in that canyon? Is it always like that? How far is everybody walking, and what's at the end?

Presently folks can hike up the Zion Narrows about 4.7 miles without a permit. The canyon can be hiked from the north for a longer trek. Conditions are highly variable depending on seasonal precipitation. The crowd seemed to taper off a little a couple miles up but this is definitely not a place to go for solitude.

I can't see the images in mobile Chrome. Maybe because your site isn't https. I can click on the generic image icons and open each individually in a new window.

I'm installing a new ssl cert and http redirect on my site. The problem should fix itself in the next day or two.

It already worked. The images auto-load for me now.

Thank you, Chrome, for making sure that an Elwood impersonator can't give us faked photos of the crowds in Utah. We could be misled!
