I went up Goode Canyon last weekend. I haven't been there in a couple of years. I am unsure if it was this year or last but apparently a pretty large avalanche hit this canyon. The majority of the canyon is pretty barren with minimal vegetation. Now the middle section prior to the cascades is covered by shattered trees and branches making progress more difficult. This goes on for quite a significant portion of the canyon so there had to be some major movement to leave that much detritus. I'm sure since the canyon is not used or seen by most, it went completely unnoticed by anyone.

Thanks for the report. I really like that place. Maybe this will keep the hordes out :)

Anthony: it's the canyon dropping down to the South, directly from the saddle between the two peaks of Mt Baldy. And I'm kidding about the hordes. Most who go down there are lost.
