Not much of a hike (maybe 1 mile?). Anyway, I just wanted to post a few pics of the current conditions at the punchbowl. I've lived here 30+ years and have never been there. 'bout time eh?

Anyway, found a spot in the parking lot about 11am on Sunday the 31st...was warned to wear my mask, the trails were open and everything else was off limits. Signs warned that if anyone misbehaved the place would close (that'll show 'em I guess). Oh and they said they had just "relocated" a rattlesnake. Was he not wearing a mask?

We did the 1 mile loop from the parking lot. Nice flow in the creek. Other hikers mostly consisted of families and kids (remind me what's the point of kids again?). Social distancing was fairly easy and most had masks on. A few rock climbers across the way with their ropes in place but they were down by the creek resting and listening to The Doors.

Didn't have time to go to the chair. Went to Charlie Brown Farms instead for a date shake (I had nothing, wife got the shake). They do not do social distancing AT ALL at Charlie Brown Farms (beware!).

Pics...

I've lived here 50+ years and haven't been there either...
We've had good weather for late May so it is still possible to do these desert hikes. Was that an official FS sign saying they relocated a snake? I wonder how far they get moved and should we be upset about breaking up families.

It was a guy at the parking lot entrance telling everyone what the "rules" were.

Oh, and the punchbowl is LA County property I think - not the FS. Right?

Yes, it's an LA county park. It's a really fun area.
