Since I couldn't join Travis for his outing on Sunday, I got out Saturday to Pleasant View Ridge. I started out late (12:30 pm) from the Burkhart Trailhead at Buckhorn Campground and hiked to Burkhart Saddle and then did Will Thrall Peak and Pleasant View Ridge. By 3 pm, when I reached the summit of Pleasant View Ridge, the Santa Ana winds that would wreak havoc the next day had already begun.
On my way down, just below Will Thrall Peak, I introduced myself to two hikers that I had chatted with at the trailhead. Turns out one of them was SP'er Luciano136 (Bruno). It's always great to meet someone you've only known on the computer screen.
It was a beautiful out as anyone who was out this weekend can attest.
