I did a solo hike up to Jones Peak yesterday morning and hiked from Bailey canyon. I had the trail all to myself. It was a beautiful day.

Is this enough advertising for the fourm?

I re-did the sign with some more advertising. The old sign was faded.

Thanks for the report! I wonder when the bench was added at the peak.

Beautiful clear day! I went up to Jones my first time last week via Bastard. Very fun.

The normal route up, followed by bastard ridge down is the best of both worlds!

About two years ago there was a guy who got attacked by two bears up there. He was backing away from the first one and noticed a second behind him. He got pretty F'd up but was able to make it back down and get to the hospital on his own. I think it happened above the cabin ruins.

Wow! that was a frightening story. I was all alone on that trail. Next time I will not go alone.
