I think we need a secret greeting for identifying forum members in public. My suggestion is this. If you encounter a stranger in the forest and are curious whether they visit the forum, initially ask a simple (perhaps dumb) location-based question to which the answer should be "yes." For example, if you've just summited Baldy, ask, "Is this Mt. Baldy?" Or if you're stuck behind a large group on the trail to Echo Mountain, yell out, "Is this the trail to Echo Mountain?" Another forum member hearing the question could then respond by saying, "Aye, it is!" The "aye" will indicate that the other person is most likely a member of this forum, since most people don't talk like a pirate, except on Talk Like A Pirate Day.

Haha, some nametags. Pirate nametags.

Call me Captain Cucamonga the Cut-throat Ridgekid! "CCC Ridge" for short.

Merry Christmas!

Cool idea, but I hear people ask dumb questions like that on a regular basis...

I like the patch/button idea.

Btw, if you're wondering, I joined this forum a couple years ago and left to focus on posting on HPS' FB group. I got annoyed of that group though so now I'm back. You guys are not annoying and I should've never left in the first place. ?

Bright neon colored balloon with the logo on it. Tie the balloon to your pack. It will be super noticeable.
