A couple weeks ago Willie showed me a Verdugo Mountains ridge route starting near the Hostetter Motorway parking lot and climbing to the Fire Warden's Grove. This ridge burned up in the La Tuna Fire last year, so it's wide open right now, plus there is a rough trail providing some steep switchbacks. I hadn't heard of this route before, though I had done the La Tuna Foot Trail, which starts at The Grotto and meets up with this ridge a little below the Grove.

I made some inquiries and was told that this route is called Warden's Ridge, and that it's maintained by Mr. Maxon.

One of my work out routes, originally noticed it coming up the Grotto trail. It was originally a fire break. With the other north side trails still closed due to the fire, people have been working on it and trying to make it more of a "normal" trail with switchbacks and contours.
