My schedule for April is busy, but I'd like to get in another EisPiraten group hike if possible. Is anyone else free on Sunday, April 15? Saturday the 28th is also possible. Let me know which day you prefer. I could lead moderate scrambles through Lower Dark Canyon or Rubio Canyon East Fork. If you prefer something else, let me know.

I'm limited to Saturdays now through the summer so 28th works for me.

I'd like to try and make one of these outings! Destination isn't particularly important to me, whatever others are up for. I work Sundays so I could only do a Saturday trip. My schedule is pretty unpredictable and I can't commit to anything, so don't try to work around me, I probably won't know until a couple days before if I can join in.

So let's schedule this for April 28th. Maybe nobody wants to do a canyon scramble, since we did upper Eaton last time. The Cosmic Cafe is open again. Do you want to do something around Mt. Wilson and eat at the cafe afterward? Maybe Opid's Trail down to the West Fork, over to Valley Forge on the Gabrielino, up to Eaton Saddle on the Valley Forge Trail, then XC traverse Occidental Peak to Mt. Wilson. Or Red Box to Mt. Lawlor to Barley Flat. Or Mt. Wilson to East Fuji with Yale and Harvard on the return. What other suggestions do you have for a moderate hike of about ten miles with 3k gain?

I've got it on the calendar and will do my best to keep the date open!

No preferences on the route as I haven't spent much time in that area so am not worried about repeats. Something involving food does sound pretty deluxe though...

I haven't been to Occidental or East Fuji, so whatever you decide is fine.

Ha- it’s usually too heavy for me to carry. I do like to bring some 12 year old scotch when I go backpacking.

If we finish earlier than last time it's an opportunity to zoom down the hill for the S Pas eclectic music festival. Big Bad Voodoo Daddy is appearing, guaranteed good time for all.

Okay, let's plan on meeting at Eaton Saddle on the 28th at 7am. We'll shuttle up to the Kenyon Devore TH, but head up to Occidental Peak first, then traverse down to Eaton Saddle. From there we'll walk down to Valley Forge, go east on the Gabrielino, and start back up on Kenyon Devore. If people are game, we can also try to hit Peaks 4583 and 5173. Then we'll have drinks and whatever at the Cosmic Cafe. Sound good? It's about ten miles with 2500' gain--3000' if we get to the unnamed peaks. There is some class 2 scrambling on Occidental.

Final reminder about the hike tomorrow. We are meeting at Eaton Saddle at 7am. If you haven't already RSVP'd, please let me know if you plan to come--and what kind of beer you like!

I'd like a headcount too, I was planning on bringing some morning treats!

I'll be in the busted-ass green Subaru and have a blue pack.

As for beer, warm weather calls for something on the lighter end of the spectrum, beyond that I'm not going to be picky!

About to head out the door and maybe it's too late, but just remembered something.

Sean, Dima told me you had a new run of EisPiraten stickers or cards or something. If you can bring me some I'll spread them around a bit.
