Sean did this recently and it made me realize I hadn't been up there in a few years.
We had the clear weather window on Sunday so got up relatively early and headed out for Stoddard Peak. Fortunately we beat most of the snow seekers up the hill.
I like this short walk in the cooler months, it would be nearly unbearable in the summer. Anyway, it was really cool when we headed out of the parking area, but by the time we got to the saddle a couple miles later the sun was out and it was a terrific day to be out. We had some hot chocolate and a Clif Bar Sierra Trail Mix for a snack and headed back down. Only saw three others on the trail but there were eight cars parked when we got back.

Couple pics:

Plenty of snow melt flowing.

Funky looking house. The little stream here was barely flowing, easy to walk across.

A little frost as I looked back at Baldy.

The use trail is much improved since my last visit. Thanks to whoever cuts back the brush.

Almost there.

Summit time.

Stoddard is a fun lower peak. I like the rock pile a little ways before the summit.
