How soon can you make reservations for permits to enter the Sierra? Say like Kearsarge pass, is it 6 months? It seems to be that you cant reserve for 7 or 8 months from now. Is this correct?

For the JMT it's 168 days or 24 weeks.

yeah six months is what I found. This is what I found.
Most trails can be reserved 6 months in advance. Reservations can be made until two days before the trip if space is still available. One day before the entry date any remaining space is made available for walk in permit requests, no online or phone orders.
I was just in Lone Pine, and Bishop for 4 days, I could have asked
