Ive never been up to Hoegees, so yesterday after work, I took the upper winter creek trail to Hoegees. It was a nice walk, but even being in all that shade the heat yesterday was terrible. Still it was nice to get out. I got to Hoegees then made some top ramen for dinner, filtered some water, then head down the lower winter creek trail back to Chantry flats. It was a good time and tomorrow after work I think Im gonna head to Spruce grove for dinner. :D

Hey yobtaf,

I worked with a guy once who said his Grandfather owned or managed(not sure which) Hoegees Camp many years ago. He told me that people use to vacation there, apparently it even had a tennis court. I have'nt hiked there in a long while, but, your right there is plenty of shade under all those trees, it must have been a great relief from the long hot summers in the days before air conditioning was invented.

Cheers Phil

I like going to Hoegee's but hate the parking in the morning. It's so close to my home which makes it easy for me...good place to test gear.

I see the streams are still low. I hope we get some good rainfall or snow this winter season.

I got the idea to go there after work from your blog  I wish the gates opened at 5am I would camp there on a friday night then walk out early sat to come to work. I work off Myrtle ave. I went up to Ice house on a sat after work about 11am and talk about no parking  I just went home.

The water was really low. You could see that its much higher usually. Still tasty :D
