My first TR and its not even local - but I remembered to take photos this time, so here goes...

Ventured out of the San Gabriels on Saturday to spend some time up at San Jacinto. Warm weather and nominal crowds made for a great day out.

After the coffee-fueled drive from the LBC, I rolled into Idyllwild to grab a permit from the ranger station and headed up to Humber Park - left the trailhead a bit before 7am. Snow seems to be almost gone, there was a few spots that required a bit of caution, but still passable in running shoes. Made decent time and summited before 10am. I spent a couple minutes on the summit talking to a fellow (John) whom I'd climbed the last mile with. Had an uneventful decent, although I did chat with some thru-hikers and give a lift to two others into town. Refueled on caffeine in Banning and did my best to remain mellow on the 91 freeway home.

Devil's Slide trail - some of the best vistas in the area.

The greenery is coming back to the spring before Wellman Divide - I've seen this called Skunk Cabbage, but not sure.
