I did my 11th Mt. Baldy hike of 2011 on 11-11-11. There was some snow and ice above the Ski Hut, the remains of the recent storm, but it is still a bit early for real winter conditions. It was quite blustery on top and seasonably cold at 38 degrees. It was a good day for a two minute visit.

Thanks for the TR Alan. I'm actually surprised there is that much snow even though it isn't that much.

Nice pictures, thanks for posting. I see that the flag is still there. I appreciate the sentiments of whoever put up the flag, but they should also take the responsibility to replace it as it becomes worn. Baldy's summit is a harsh environment for flags.

Nice pics! Too bad the wind wasn't blowing 11mph with a wind chill factor of 11 degrees, and you stayed up there 11 minutes.

 that sounds familiar. My REI e-vent jacket was put to the test and I have to say that I would rather carry my Mountain Hardware sub zero jacket than 3 liters of ice...next time. :?
