Phil (lik2hik) and I hiked the 6 peak Big Baldy Loop after work on Friday and finished under a (nearly) full moon. The highlight of the trek was encountering a herd of 10 Bighorn Sheep. When they saw us they took off with incredible speed and a few seconds later all that remained was a cloud of dust. Sure wish I could move that fast in the mountains! About 18 miles for the hike with ~8K' of up.

We started at the village, so about 4K'. Time was right at 10 hrs. We kinda cruised the lower part of the ridge cuz it gets hot there and we didn't want to burn thru our water.

Nice work Dave and Phil, we missed you by 14 hours, we went up at 8:20 PM Thursday night (Ty, Taco, Jake and Elwood and Myself) during the full, full moon and made it back to the car by 2 AM - perfect night for Midnight Madness on Baldy :D
