Access to Lower Clamshell Motorway (1N38) at Ridgeside Dr. in Monrovia was...well...DENIED! Harumph.

Indeed....i was up there yesterday and almost thought that this meant I couldn't climb the peak :roll:

That's a serious slog up to Monrovia Peak there...what a little monster that is.

yeah it seemed so innocent at first for me too.

you go up the ridge still or fireroad?

I followed the ridge direct, which was slightly brutal....then met what looks like an old firebreak from there up. I've been spoiled by maintained trails or snowclimbs lately so this was a huge departure. I had read that it was tough, and it is. The decent was by far the worst part.

Can you continue on the above pictured fire road as a means of summitting Monrovia as well? This was my first trip in that area, I'm not super familiar.
