... FIRE WEATHER WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM SATURDAY EVENING THROUGH MONDAY EVENING DUE TO GUSTY NORTHEAST WINDS AND VERY LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY...

A FIRE WEATHER WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM SATURDAY EVENING THROUGH MONDAY EVENING.

HOT AND VERY DRY CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED ACROSS THE VALLEYS SATURDAY EVENING THROUGH MONDAY... ESPECIALLY ACROSS FOOTHILL AREAS. AFTERNOON TEMPERATURES ARE EXPECTED TO EXCEED 100 DEGREES. THERE WILL BE EXTENDED PERIODS OF SINGLE DIGIT RELATIVE HUMIDITY WITH POOR OVERNIGHT RECOVERIES.

IN ADDITION... GUSTY NORTHEAST WINDS ARE EXPECTED BELOW PASSES AND CANYONS. AT THIS TIME... SUSTAINED WINDS OF 15 TO 25 MPH WITH GUSTS TO 35 MPH ARE POSSIBLE FROM SATURDAY EVENING THROUGH MONDAY EVENING.

A FIRE WEATHER WATCH MEANS THAT CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS ARE FORECAST TO OCCUR. PLEASE ADVISE THE APPROPRIATE OFFICIALS OR FIRE CREWS IN THE FIELD OF THIS FIRE WEATHER WATCH. LISTEN FOR LATER FORECASTS AND POSSIBLE RED FLAG WARNINGS.

.STRONG HIGH PRESSURE ALOFT WILL BUILD OVER THE AREA THIS WEEKEND BRINGING VERY HOT AND DRY CONDITIONS. AFTERNOON TEMPERATURES ON SUNDAY AND MONDAY WILL BE IN EXCESS OF 100 DEGREES ACROSS INLAND AREAS. THERE WILL BE EXTENDED PERIODS OF SINGLE DIGIT RELATIVE HUMIDITY ACROSS THE MOUNTAINS AND VALLEYS IN THE AFTERNOON AND EVENING HOURS... WITH VERY POOR OVERNIGHT RECOVERIES.

ALSO THIS WEEKEND... THERE WILL BE AN OFFSHORE FLOW ACROSS THE AREA. THIS WILL PRODUCE SOME GUSTY NORTHEAST WINDS THROUGH AND BELOW PASSES AND CANYONS OF VENTURA AND LOS ANGELES COUNTIES. THE STRONGEST PERIOD OF WIND IS EXPECTED SATURDAY EVENING THROUGH MONDAY. SUSTAINED WINDS OF 15 TO 25 MPH ARE POSSIBLE ALONG WITH GUSTS TO AROUND 35 MPH IN THE WIND PRONE AREAS... ESPECIALLY DURING THE NIGHT AND MORNING HOURS.

THE POTENTIAL COMBINATION OF VERY HOT TEMPERATURES... VERY LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY... GUSTY NORTHEAST WINDS AND CRITICALLY DRY FUELS HAS PROMPTED THE ISSUANCE OF THE FIRE WEATHER WATCH.
