Hiked up to Pallett Mountain from Buckhorn CG this morning. I needed to cleanse the soul by bagging a peak after slumming it in a canyon yesterday ( ) !
This hike can be very hot, especially this time of year, but with the cold front that passed through last night the temps were chilly and the breeze was refreshing. No need to give specifics - just follow the directions on the Sierra Clubs HPS site. Trail is in excellent shape despite the 4 or 5 downed trees that have been there for several years now - easy to hop over.
Pics.
Very clear skies. Most of the pics are from the summit area - a broad area. Sierra Nevada peaks were visible but they probably don't show up in the pics.
Several flowing springs and rushing water in the creeks - in August!
Looking north...
Side note to all the SOB's that don't know what the fuck a turnout is for...
I'm not sorry for running you off the road and into that canyon...oops!
