Hard to believe, but the Mt Waterman website says they will open this weekend:

I wonder how this will work the forest being closed and such...

Can anyone direct me to a good detailed map of the closed areas? I tried to read the info at the Angeles National Forest web site on the Station Fire Recovery Order at
http://www.fs.fed.us/r5/angeles/orders/
but Exhit B, the map, is a pdf file of such horribly low resolution that it is unreadable, and Exhibit A, the text, has no organization to it.

I have an annual Adventure Pass and wonder where I can use it without breaking the law.

Ironically, my daughter, the two dogs, and I had one of the best day hikes we've ever had when we drove up Hwy 2 just after it opened and parked where the forest was green and there was no hint of fire damage. We had a beautiful walk along a nice stream, there was an inch or two of snow on the ground for much of the hike, and we had the whole trail to ourselves. When we got back there was a citation warning (no fine) on the windshield. Apparently we were still in the closed area. Sorry NFS, it wasn't on purpose.

Try this link to a zoom-able map.

Thanks for the map, HikeUp. According to that map we were just outside the closed area.
