This easy hike is one of my favorite climbs in the San Gs. We went up on Sunday to check out the snow. Photo report here:

It was a beautiful day, not too cold until we got to the summit. One of the best little hikes in the range enhanced by a dusting of snow, and brilliant weather:

Nice photos! What a difference a week makes. Looks like winter is finally approaching the San Gabs!

Nice work Simonov, tells me I need to get back there again. Have two numbies that have been bugging me to take them on something "Not to difficult" and don't go so fast, that's a great spot for a half day hike, hopefully we will get another dusting that they can enjoy the views, a little snow and not be "sucking wind" when we are done.

Nice Pictures as well.

Does hwy 2 still close off at Vincent Gap parking lot? If it does, I was planning on riding my bike on the paved hwy from there to Dawson Saddle and where ever else it takes me. \ I will go stealth.
Nice pictures by the way, it made me want to go up there.
So which gate closes the Angeles Crest HWY?
