Informed by a route description on summitpost by TacoDelRio (man, that dude is everywhere!), I experienced the Sugarloaf Ridge route on Ontario Peak on Saturday. Here is the trip report: Crazy for the Grovel

Nicely done TR.
Your descriptions of the ascent and descent routes of the scree slope are dead on. The ascent route with stable rocks had quite a few ducks marking the route when I went up back in July.

Nice TR. I would like to try the same route in winter with a snowboard descent.

Daddylonglegs: Is that picture of Whitney on your blog? If so, its a nice shot from an angle rarely photographed.

Zach: Yes, that is Whitney at the top of my blog. The photo was taken from the plateau just below and south of the Russell/Carillon Col.
Taco: Thanks for the invite, but with two little kids my overnights are far and few between.
