Me and a friend are going for our first Iron Mountain summit on Thursday. I have reviewed some past trip reports and referenced Robinsons trails of the Angeles. Anyone have any tips for a couple of boots? 8)

Pick a cool Thursday!
Actually, if this gloomy weather holds, you should be pretty happy.
Oh, and take plenty of water. I often cache some at the saddle before heading up the steep section.

Yup, hoping for a cool clear day. 8) Are you saying you cache some water at the saddle for your trip back down? Good tip!
Thanks!

Yeah, it is nice to avoid hauling those extra couple of pounds up that steep hill for nothing. It encourages taking plenty of water and having plenty for those last few miles on the way back.
Have a great hike. It's a hard one, but the reward is all that much greater when you're standing on top!
