A friend of mine hiked to Twin Peaks from Buckhorn today, and just called me all excited because lo and behold the skies opened and treated her to a rain shower for about 45 minutes! She said it was beautiful, and very refreshing. No lightning, so it was safe.

Other than that, she said the bugs were really bad. No pics... :(

I love summer rainstorms... glad she didn't get any lightning!

first time we did twin peaks, I was waiting for my friend to get up the steep portion, when he finally came into view he was staggering around, then suddenly starting flailing his arms. i thought he lost balance and was falling, but in reality was just swatting at all the damn bugs hovering around him!

It would almost be better if they bit - why don't they bite?? They just exist to fly up your nose!! How does that type of thing evolve???
