When my climbing buddy Norris told me he'd never hiked Baldy, I was like, "Dude, you've climbed epic mountains whose names I can't even pronounce--this can't be true!"
But true it was, so knowing full well the risks I took it upon myself to guide him up this treacherous peak.
It was a perfect day until a "whiteout" interupted our glissading plans. But we got to meet Taco and that was cool. Pix are here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/21042415@N ... 003205612/

Good meeting you and Norris, Dave. We did some glissade racing down the southern part of the bowl in the whiteout, and Fritz booked it on his splitboard.

thanx for the TR. looked like a fun day! amazing how conditions can change so rapidly. now Norris can cross-off the highest peak in L.A. county from his international list!
i spent heavy change to woosh and schuss an 11,000 ft peak over the weekend. i had a great time but always look forward to my next adventure with you.
glad to see Taco is back in the mountains where he belongs!

Thanks for the post. I was wondering the conditions up there for a possible short climb on Saturday.
Nice pictures.
