Instead of moaning about the SoCal forest closures decided to drive north and hit the first promient peak in the Southern Sierras. If interested in a more complete report, I posted on the San Jacinto Board.

Crazy, I was planning on hiking Olancha yesterday, but the risk of snow turned us away and we did a hike in the San Bernardino mnts instead. Thanks for the post,
