Last week I hiked to Dawn Mine in search of mushrooms. Lots of water in the canyon and many, many stream crossings. I managed to keep my shoes dry with all the skipping, hopping and jumping over rocks.
Anyways, I found a few mushrooms but nothing really worth posting.
The waterfalls and mini cascades were more interesting.

Most water I've see up there! WOW!
The shot of the 'succulent'-like plant...I don't know what kind of plant that is, but have seen it before. There is a roadside rock along Mt Wilson Rd that faces the road, nearly vertical, nearly rectangular. It's split into 4 quadrants, not equal but symmetric. That plant grows about once every 3 years right out of the middle junction of the quadrants. It's odd, but I consider that rock to be sacred/holy in a way. "Shrine it off!!!"

It's a lot more fun to just power through the water!Girl Hiker wrote: ↑Sat Mar 23, 2024 12:24 pm Last week I hiked to Dawn Mine in search of mushrooms. Great Pictures! I went to the base of that two tier waterfall visible from the Mount Lowe road last fall for the first time. I bet Millar is really nice now too given all of the rain.
