Now that it's officially springtime I've been hiking several trails in search of wildflowers. Yesterday I found the motherload of wildflowers in Hemet.
The trail is only 2 miles but offers such an array of spectacular wildflowers. You can also hike around the lake which is 22 miles. I only hiked 15 miles of it because I ran out of time, but on the lake side there are different flowers that aren't found on the main trail, like the owl's clover and vibrant red monkey flower. Baby blue eyes & lupine rule the trails!
There's a fee for parking and entrance & they offer senior discount.

FYI they rent e-bikes at the marina. They are pedal assist ebikes, not the fully powered ones. I did the 22 mile ride around the lake with my dad on Easter Sunday. Not bad for a 77 year old guy! Get there around sunrise if you want to avoid the crowds.
