The last couple weekends I’ve only been able to get out to the Wilderness Park, this is a great time to visit all the local hills. The grasses are long and green, some of the plants are flowering and life is in its annual process of renewal.
I have been wandering around what is now CHWP for more than 40 years and have never seen this much water flowing while not in the midst of a downpour.
The storms ate up some of the fire roads.
Looking at Gale Mountain where we visited a couple weeks ago.
Potato Mountain below clouds in the center of the picture.
Water flowing through the Live Oaks in Cobal Canyon.
Looks almost like a creek down near the entrance gate.
Interesting blooms, the leaves on this tree/bush look like oak.

The flowering bush is a sumac, fortunately one of the non-poisonous varieties we have here in Cali. There's a non-poisonous close relative of this that lives in the higher elevations in the Sierra Nevada, much more lush and green in appearance. This variety, like many other drab-looking plants in the area, has such beautiful and delicate blossoms.
